Advanced principles of contemporary chemistry. Topics include chemical thermodynamics, chemical equilibria including acid-base equilibria, electrochemistry, kinetics and mechanisms of chemical reactions, and the relationship of structure to physical and chemical properties. Laboratory techniques employ qualitative and quantitative analyses. Recommended for students pursuing a degree in natural science, health science or engineering. 4 Credits (3 Lecture - 3 Lab) Prerequisite(s): CHM111. Corequisite(s): MTH180.
