Analysis of particle and rigid body motion in two and three dimensions. Kinematics of translation and rotation; use of force/mass/acceleration and work/energy methods; and impulse, momentum, and collision of elastic bodies. Strong emphasis on the engineering significance of these principles, with special emphasis on structures.
