Theory and operation of climate control systems. Topics include proper diagnosis and servicing techniques, including recycling and handling of refrigerants and testing for system contamination and substitute refrigerants. Emphasis on the effects of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and tetrafluoroethane on Earth’s atmosphere. Modern automatic climate control, dual zone climate control, and heated and cooled seat systems are discussed.
