Introduction to Forensic Science


Study and application of science to the processes of law including the collection, examination, evaluation, and interpretation of evidence. Introduction to the field of forensic science through an exploration of its applications to criminal investigation for the resolution of social and legal disputes. Review of the basic applications of the biological, physical, chemical, medical and behavioral sciences to questions of evidence with an emphasis on a basic understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the forensic sciences as they are presently practiced.
