Adventure Anthropology: Cultural Immersion and Study Abroad
Seminar-style anthropological/historical investigation of a particular cultural group and its region of the world, historical and modern. Emphasis placed on examination of relevant anthropological research and historical interpretations that describe the cultural group’s history, modern context, significant characteristics, achievements, and challenges. Issues related to ethnicity, development, technology, health, and sustainability will be studied to allow students to connect their specific major expertise to an international application. Field work includes travel to select global destinations with guided tours and presentations. Spring Only.
