An academic or credit overload occurs when a student registers for more than 18 credits per regular semester (does not apply to students enrolled in majors that require a higher credit load). Students taking classes in the summer (May through August) are limited to 18 credits for that period.
Students wishing to schedule an overload must obtain adviser approval as well as the signature of the assistant dean or dean of the academic school in which they are enrolled. A returning student must have earned a 3.0 graduation grade-point average to qualify to schedule a credit overload.
