Jacklyn is a licensed psychologist who joined the Counseling Services staff in October 2008. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Chester University and a Master of Education in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Georgia, Jacklyn worked in a variety of positions in higher education, including residence life and new student orientation. Jacklyn earned her Ph.D. in Human Development with a concentration in Counseling Psychology from Marywood University in 2001. Prior to her arrival at Penn College, Jacklyn was the director of the Counseling/Student Development Center at Marywood University, where she was also an adjunct faculty member in the Psychology Department.
Jacklyn has extensive experience working with a variety of presenting problems, including but not limited to, depression and anxiety. Professional areas of interest include mindfulness, self-esteem enhancement, and assertiveness training. Influenced by the cognitive behavioral approach to counseling and a passionate belief in human potential, Jacklyn utilizes a strength based model to help clients set goals, identify barriers to achieving those goals, and then develop an appropriate action plan.
