Links are Penn College students hired to assist with the coordination and implementation of the Connections program, Penn College’s summer orientation. Through small and large group interactions, Links help to prepare adult learners, first-year, and transfer students and their guests to become members of the Penn College community. They present programs, lead tours, and help coordinate check-in and checkout for programs. Links are expected to serve as role models for program participants and they must be flexible, willing to learn and to accept responsibility. A high level of motivation, enthusiasm, and dedication is required of a Link in order to ensure the success of the Connections Program.
Links also participate in fun and interactive training sessions in the weeks leading up to Connections. Some training events may include: country retreats, community service opportunities, and team-building challenges.
Qualifications Desired in a Link:
- Be responsible, reliable, confident, and flexible.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to helping others; enjoy working with people.
- Demonstrate a sincere desire to learn about Penn College and its traditions, policies, people, and programs.
