Brian joined the Counseling Services staff in August 2015. He is a licensed psychologist who currently lives in Williamsport. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lycoming College and then completed his Master of Arts and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Marywood University. Prior to coming to Penn College, Brian worked as a Staff Psychologist/Coordinator of Alcohol and Other Drug Programs at the Counseling & Student Development Center at Bucknell University. Brian has also taught undergraduate as well as graduate level classes at Marywood University.
Brian's areas of interest include depression, anxiety, identity issues, and substance use concerns. Brian believes that in order for change to occur, a person must feel respected and understood within the therapeutic relationship. He works to create a safe and trusting environment where students can feel free to explore their areas of concern. Brian integrates a variety of counseling techniques into his work including exploration of interpersonal relationships, an examination of one's patterns of thinking and feeling, and an assessment of one's strengths.
