This course builds foundational knowledge of electrical applications in commercial and industrial settings. Starting with easily understood analogies used to explain the fundamental theories of electricity, participants will quickly learn practical, real world applications of electrical devices, controls, and distribution systems used in manufacturing facilities. Safety and the use of electrical test equipment will also be demonstrated. Students will apply what they have learned by performing basic electrical repair techniques, identification of applicable installation codes, and correct selection of materials needed to complete laboratory projects designed to reinforce basic electrical skills learned in class.
