WDCE Course Welding - Downhand Level I

This course focuses on the welding process that is commonly used in the oil and gas industry. Introduction to the principles and practices of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) using E-6010 and E-7010 electrodes in all positions will be taught. Advanced SMAW techniques for welding plate to American Welding Society (AWS) standards along with various techniques used in industry are covered. Students will be trained in downhand welding techniques. This course prepares students to progress to the Downhand - Level II course and allows students to earn the AWS B2.1-1-017-1994 3/8" vertical down plate certification.
