NSSC (formerly called the Weatherization Training Center at Penn College) is a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Test Center. As a BPI Test Center, NSSC is aligned with a nationally recognized credentialing process and provides an enhanced career path for private contractors in the residential energy efficiency retrofit field.
NSSC has developed training to prepare private contractor individuals for the knowledge, skills, and needed to take the BPI Building Analyst exam. Our training program teaches the fundamentals of home performance evaluation and whole-house retrofit planning and execution with a focus on the house-as-a-system concept, including mechanical equipment and the building envelope.
For individuals that are already BPI certified, many of NSSC’s courses are approved for BPI continuing education units (CEUs).

BPI Questions & Answers
Do I have to take coursework in order to sit for a BPI exam?
While BPI does not require training prior to attempting certification, it is highly recommended that you review the BPI Field Guides, Testing Knowledge Lists, and BPI Small Home Certification Policies and Procedures to make sure you have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to successfully pass the written and field exams. NSSC offers comprehensive training that builds the knowledge and skills needed to successfully earn BPI certification.
