The National Science Foundation's Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program has recognized Penn College's commitment to applied technology education with a $1,000,000 grant.
The Scholarship program is for students who are low-income with high ability and intend to pursue an associate’s degree in the School of Construction & Design Technologies at Penn College. In addition to the scholarship award, students will have the opportunity to engage with industry from their very first semester and be closely mentored by a departmental faculty member. Students will be encouraged to seek paid internships prior to completion of the degree. Selected students will be awarded scholarships for tuition and fees based on their financial need, ranging between $6,900 and $10,000 per year for a maximum of two years.

To be eligible for this scholarship, each applicant must:
- be a first-time student seeking an associate's degree;
- be enrolled full-time (15-credit hours per semester) in a School of Construction & Design Technologies academic program;
- be a citizen or national of the United States, alien admitted as refugee, or alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence; and
- have documented financial need by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form with the Penn College Financial Aid Office.
