I joined the Penn College team in January 2011. I have over 20 years of surgical technology experience. I graduated with a certificate in Surgical Technology in 1991 from the Naval School of Health Sciences and began working at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, where I received my National Certification as Surgical Technologist. I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Services in 2006 and continued my naval career in both surgical technology and administrative assignments. I retired from the United States Navy in 2008 and recently completed a Masters in Business Administration.

Contact information (employee directory)

I have been a member of the Penn College community since 1997, both as a student and as an employee. I graduated with a certificate in Surgical Technology in 1999 and began working at a local hospital. I became a registered nurse in 2004 and continued to work in the operating room setting. In 2005, I began my work with Penn College’s Surgical Technology program while continuing my education, earning a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and completing my BSN. While teaching, I continue to work in the field which allows me to remain current and impart the valuable skills I learn every day to future surgical technologists.
