Pat Scott is the librarian for the School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications and also serves as the College Archivist.
She is a native of South Williamsport and graduated from the Williamsport Area Community College in 1971. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (1976) and Master of Arts (1986) from Penn State University. Before attending library school, Pat worked for many years in the Documents and Maps libraries at Penn State’s Pattee Library. She graduated from Clarion University with a Master of Science in Library Science in 1994.
Before coming to Penn College, she worked as a reference and government documents librarian at Bucknell University (1995 to 1999.)
Her professional interests include archival management, book preservation, and emergency preparedness for libraries and archives. In 2009, Pat was among the delegation of U.S. archivists who visited China to meet with archivists in Beijing and Shanghai as part of a People to People Ambassadors program. She has visited libraries in Cairo and St. Petersburg, Russia.
Pat is an avid reader of fiction and a student of 19th century Russian history and culture. She also enjoys exploring family history and learning about Irish genealogy.
