Meet Penn College Baja SAE

Two victories. Twelve top-ten finishes. One team united by a relentless can-do spirit. That's Baja SAE at Penn College. When you live and learn alongside a community of hands-on learners, designing and building an all-terrain car is second nature. And our team is always up for the challenge. Meet the crew and get a snapshot of the ethos that drives this team to victory.

Baja SAE Reigns Supreme

The Penn College Baja SAE team recently captured the coveted first-place finish. Twice. First in Tennessee and next in New York, the all-star team outperformed a strong field from around the world in the famed endurance event. Rugged terrain, changing elevation, and tight turns were no match for the team’s grit and their buggy’s durability. Meet the team. Hear their story. And re-live the victory that will fuel all future competitions.

Tools

It is suggested that students have at least the recommended tools. This will minimize the time spent waiting in line to obtain or return the basic tools to the room. Instructors will help identify what tools are needed during the first day of class. Free lockers are located in the laboratory area. Students must supply their own locks. Lockers must be cleaned and locks removed at the end of the spring semester or College personnel will remove and discard the items.

Automated Manufacturing & Machining Required Tools

Uniform

Do not wear loose fitting clothing that may get caught in a machine; short sleeves or tightly rolled up sleeves are recommended. Long hair should be pulled back and securely fastened. Shop aprons should be worn to reduce the wear and tear on clothing. Safety glasses and safety shoes should be worn during time spent in laboratory area.

Uniforms and tools are available for purchase through The College Store .
