New college students often seek information about college expectations and the campus environment. Penn Pals is a program in which a new first-year student is paired with a current Penn College student who can offer advice, help alleviate initial fears, and answer questions during summer, Fall, or throughout the first year.
Returning students volunteer to become Penn Pals to new students because they want to help fellow students. They remember what the first few weeks of the semester were like for them and they want to be a resource for others going through the same thing. While we will try to pair students based on academic school or major, please know that all matches are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Volunteer to be a Penn Pal
The Penn Pals program is an opportunity to further give back to the college by “paying forward” your knowledge and expertise to a student who may benefit from your experiences, as well as a way to encourage new students to participate in student leadership opportunities across campus. It should not be very time consuming for you, but it could be a very rewarding experience for both you and your assigned student.
To participate in the program all you need to do is to complete and return the Penn Pal volunteer form, agree to come to at least one informational training session before the end of the semester, and be willing to communicate regularly with your assigned student.
