In-Field or In-Classroom Energy Conservation and Weatherization Training
Traditionally a facility-based organization, WTC staff and its well-equipped mobile unit have been delivering training at agency sites throughout Pennsylvania since 1990. Working in response to a particular training need, WTC can draw upon proven, standardized curricula or create a customized agenda to allow for a wide range of training possibilities.
Some examples of customized courses and workshops include Sidewall Insulation, Combustion Appliance Zone (CAZ) Testing, Thermal Boundary Workshop, and ASHRAE 62.2-Building Airflow Standard Workshop.
- Competency-based courses approved by Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and mapped to the Job Task Analyses for the Home Energy Professional Certifications developed by the U.S. DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
- Instruction in building science, principles of energy, moisture and indoor air quality, control strategies, and building and mechanical systems audits
- Building product information and other resources
These services are offered at no cost to federally funded Pennsylvania agencies. In-Field Training is also available to other states, utility companies, or private corporations and is fee based. Contact the Weatherization Training Center for more information.
