Course Scheduling Tip
When scheduling a course, enter the participant's name on the registration form (though it's OK to use the supervisor's contact information). Please provide an e-mail address to receive a registration confirmation with course details, directions, and hotel information. Participants must provide an Application Review Committee (ARC) approval letter from the Department of Labor & Industry or payment prior to admittance to courses.
The Weatherization Training Center (WTC) at Pennsylvania College of Technology has expanded operations in response to the growing demand for service fueled by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
The center has trained over 2,000 men and women since 2009 to help low-income households reduce energy consumption and costs in the coming year.
The funding boost is expected to provide 940 jobs in Pennsylvania by 2012 for individuals who will weatherize at least 29,700 more housing units, reducing energy usage in the state by the equivalent of 155,000 barrels of oil a year.
WTC provides competency-based training courses on-site and on-location for employees or contractors of community-based organizations who administer mechanical and building-shell retrofits under the assistance program.
