Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness
This 4-hour course is designed to improve the awareness of the hazards of working in an H2S environment and provides the student with the basic skills necessary to follow a response strategy to rescue a casualty of H2S poisoning. Objectives are: physical properties and locations of H2S, occupational exposure limits, toxicity levels, scales, supplied air breathing apparatus (SABA), self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) maintenance and operation, formation of H2S & common industrial sites, concentrations and toxic levels, H2S effects on individuals, detection and monitoring, contingency & emergency response plans rescue, first aid techniques, and post-exposure, evaluation. Meets H2S certification by ANSI Z390.1
