Infrared for the Beginner

This introductory class is intended to give the participant an overview of the knowledge necessary to perform infrared investigations of single or multifamily dwellings and to identify envelope, moisture, and air infiltration issues. The class covers IR camera operation, the fundamentals of IR science, and heat transfer principles through application examples. A short tutorial of common camera operation functions is included in this introduction. This review covers camera specifications to better understand camera choices, common measurement tools, and the functions of focus, tuning, and other settings for image clarity. Course Hours: 6.5.
