Basic Vehicle Rescue Operations BVRO
COURSE REGISTRATION IS RESTRICTED TO QUALIFIED FIRST RESPONDERS. This is the second of a three course series, jointly sponsored by the Academy and the Department of Health EMS Office. Successful completion of all three modules within eighteen months will earn the student joint SFA/DOH certification as a Vehicle Rescue Technician. The Pennsylvania Vehicle Rescue Training Curriculum places emphasis upon the development of knowledge and skills to be used by rescue personnel to achieve a safe and efficient vehicle rescue operation. While not teaching patient care, i.e. medical treatment, this program will provide those resuce personnel with no formal medical training with a strong orientation to patient related resuce. This course is intended for personnel who have already taken the BVR Awareness course in the past. This course teaches the student the use of hand tools in vehicle rescue operations and how to access and package the patient at the accident scene. Post rescue operations are also discussed. Students will need TURN OUT GEAR AND EYE PROTECTION.
