BOC Level 1 Certification

BOC Level I Certification is a nationally recognized certification program providing building operators with the knowledge and skills to improve the energy efficient operation of their buildings. Level 1 Certification is designed for building operators and engineers, maintenance technicians, HVAC and electrical trades, and others in the facilities engineering and maintenance profession who wish to broaden their knowledge of the total building system. The Level I course series offers eight classes (74 hours total) consisting of classroom training, facility-based project assignments and in-class exams. Classes include: Energy Efficient Operation of Building HVAC Systems (2 days), Measuring and Benchmarking Energy Performance, Efficient Lighting Fundamentals, HVAC Controls Fundamentals, Indoor Environmental Quality, Common Opportunities for Low-Cost Operational Improvement, and a supplemental class selected by program administrators.
