INT - Industrial Technologies

INT215
Haas CNC Vertical Machining Center Programming & Operation
This 16-hour course is an introduction to the Haas CNC Vertical Machining Center. The student will learn to create programs, set up, and operate the Haas VMC. The course wil include three axis programming techniques used to create code for contouring, pocketing, drilling, tapping, reaming and other machining operations using the word address format (G&M code). The course also will introduce the Haas conversational programming feature, Visual Quick Code programming. This course is recommended for machinists, CNC programmers, setup and operators, engineers, shop supervision, and shop owners.
Prerequisite(s): Basic computer and math skills; Windows interface knowledge; experiance with manual and/or CNC machining on milling machines; and blueprint-reading skills.

INT216
Haas CNC SL20 Turning Center Programming & Operation
This 16-hour course is an introduction to the Haas CNC SL20 Turning Center. The student will learn to create programs, set up, and operate the Haas SL20 Turning Center. The course will include two axis programming techniques used to create code for contouring, drilling, tapping, reaming, and other machining operations using the word address format (G&M code). The course also will introduce the Haas conversational programming feature, Visual Quick Code programming. This course is recommended for machinists, CNC programmers, setup, and operators, engineers, shop supervision, and shop owners.
Prerequisite(s): Basic computer and math skills; Windows interface knowledge; experience with manual and/or CNC machining on milling machines; and blueprint-reading skills.

INT701
Blueprint Reading for Industrial Applications
This course will emphasize the reading, sketching and interpretation of multiview drawings involving dimension, notes, specifications, and symbols.

INT717
Construction Print Reading
Participants will be able to identify working drawings, read and interpret specifications, interpret standard drawing symbols, dimensions, and notes; use actual residential and comercial plans to extract and interpret information; solve mathematical problems relating to construction drawings; understand and properly use architect's and engineer's scales; and display fluency in building component nomenclature.

INT727
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Gain technical knowledge in interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards used in industry. Topics include basic principles and applications, geometric symbols, ANSI and ISO drawing standards. datums, form tolereances, runout, and profile control.

INT729
Impacts of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) to Your Manufacturing Environment
This course is designed to give perspective on where and how GDT impacts any manufacturer from design to product inspection based on customer requirements. This seminar-style informational course introduces the participant to a broad concept of GDT, its potential impact on production, and more importantly the overall cost of manufacturing. Direct correlations between GDT, quality, cost, and schedule of manufactured goods will be explored. As competitive as today's manufacturing environment is, a company needs to understand how proper GDT implementation can result in both an edge on the competition and the ability to better service the customer's needs. Follow-up classes will be available to provide more specialized training for individuals or companies that want to develop their GDT capabilities.
