Student Rules & Regulations - Using the Test Center

  1. Current Penn College student IDs are required.
  2. Testing is restricted to the location and times indicated. Students must start early enough to complete testing by the time the Testing Center closes. Students with special testing needs must consult their instructor.
  3. Immediately upon entering the Testing Center, students must swipe their Penn College ID cards to access their testing information.
  4. The proctor will note the beginning time on the exam and then give the exam to the student. The student is responsible for returning the exam to the testing proctor within the approved time (as noted on the e-mail testing form) regardless of whether or not finished.
  5. As students return their exams to the proctor, they must again swipe their ID cards to record the ending time of their testing sessions before leaving the Testing Center.
  6. Students may not leave the Testing Center once they have received the exam. Students should raise their hands if they have questions concerning readability. The proctor will not help work problems or indicate whether the methodology or answers are correct.
  7. No books, notes, or calculators should be brought to the Testing Center unless the instructor has so indicated on the electronic testing form. Students should plan to bring their own pencils or pens.
  8. Students are to maintain quiet, avoid distractions, and follow all instructions from the proctor. Problems with testing may be discussed with a student’s instructor later.
  9. Students may utilize the Testing Center on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, students should not wait until the last minute to take an exam, as seats may not be available.
  10. Students may not wear hats in the Testing Center.
  11. Electronic devices such as, but not limited to, cell phones, iPods, DVD players, pagers, and digital cameras, are not permitted in the testing room. These devices jeopardize test security and cause distractions for other students. Possession of such a device while in the testing room (even if turned off) will be considered an act of academic dishonesty.
  12. All personal property should be placed in one of the lockers provided at the Testing Center. Students may obtain locker keys from the proctor in exchange for their Penn College ID cards.
