Health Services
All currently enrolled students are eligible for service. Each student is
required to have a Self Appraisal form on file. All visitors will be provided
with basic first aid in the event of an accident on campus. Our clinic offers
limited physical examinations, treatment
of acute injuries, and treatment of illnesses such as flu or stomach disorders.
Regular Services:
- assessment and treatment of illnesses and injury
- limited OTC medications, such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Maalox, Benadryl, and Pepto-Bismol
- some prescription medications at students expense
- equipment loans such as crutches, etc.
- infirmary area for ill students during regular office hours
- referrals for care, as needed
- treatment of emergencies
- blood pressure checks
- weight checks
- limited laboratory services
- free condoms
- health related educational materials
- insurance information
- OB/GYN counseling and education
- men’s health care
- counseling and education on limited health related issues ie. Eating disorders, Substance Abuse
- confidential HIV/STD testing (see Student Activities Calendar for dates)
- allergy injections (additional charges will apply)
- suture and staple removal
- immunizations
Allergy Injections
Serum and documentation are required from your allergist in order to receive injections. Injections will only be administered during physician’s hours. Students must remain in the clinic for 20 minutes following the injection. Additional charges for this service apply.
Suture and Staple Removal
Suture or staple removal provided with written doctor’s order or discharge paperwork from the emergency department.
Immunizations and TB Testing
Routine immunization schedules change from time to time. It is important to review your immunization record regularly. Students who are in high-risk categories (e.g. members of the health professions or those traveling in areas where TB is endemic) are strongly advised to have annual TB testing. Speak to one of the nurses about your immunization schedule today!
