Student Health Insurance
“Wellness must be a prerequisite to all else. Students cannot be
intellectually proficient if they are physically and psychologically unwell,”
Earnest Boyer, Campus Life: In Search of Community.
Recent national studies indicate that 40-50% of college students are either
underinsured or uninsured. A lack of health insurance coverage can seriously
jeopardize not only a students financial standings, but also the student’s
academic career. Uninsured students find it difficult to afford proper medical
treatments, and tend to defer medical attention until the problems have advanced
to a more serious stage.
Although Penn College does not currently offer medical insurance, we do offer a
list of provider Web sites for students to find a plan that meets their health
needs.
