What's New in Student Affairs
The new Job Location and Development (JLD) Program exceeded it's first year goal by placing 67 current students earning over $121,000. The average hourly pay rate for the students ranged from $6.50-$15.00. The office is designed to assist students in finding jobs on- and off-campus.
Residence Life launched an intervention program to mentor students living on-campus who are on academic probation. The program consisted of one-on-one student-staff meetings with the objective of setting goals and developing plans to participate in existing support services. Research indicates that participating students were more likely to succeed.
The Off-Campus Housing Office provides students with the resources needed to
get started in the process of finding and maintaining an apartment. Staff
provides pointers on how to utilize resources, work with landlords, and expert
advice on the city and surrounding area.
