Kim has been at Penn College since 2004. Before assuming the Director position she served as the Assistant Director for Student Development and the Associate Director for Greek Life and Leadership. In addition to her other responsibilities, Kim is responsible for organizing the College’s orientation program, Connections, as well as Welcome Weekend.

Originally from Florida, Kim enjoys the outdoors, exercising, and hanging out with her husband and two little boys.

Sara joined the Student Activities staff in August 2009. As the Assistant Director of Student Activities for Student Services and Involvement, she is responsible for advising the Student Government Association, working with student organizations, overseeing the Campus Center Information Desk, and programming efforts such as Parent & Family Weekend.

Sara, who was born and raised in Texas, enjoys live music, fine and performing arts, reading and a good cup of coffee. Sara is also an avid photographer, passionate cook, art junkie and outdoor enthusiast.

Michael Hersh

Michael was born and raised in Allentown, PA and graduated from William Allen High School in 2000. After graduating from Kutztown University in May 2004 with a B.S. in Electronic Media, he interned and later worked at Banyan Productions in Philadelphia. While at Banyan, Michael was an assistant editor on many TLC shows such as Trading Spaces, Makeover Story, Dating Story, and Trading Spaces Family.

In his current role, Michael enjoys advising the Wildcat Event’s Board and providing dynamic and entertaining programs for the Penn College community.

Malinda joined the Student Activities staff in July 2012. In her role, she is responsible for campus-wide diversity initiatives, supporting student organizations with a cultural and religious focus, providing diversity and social justice workshops and trainings, and coordinating alternative spring break.

Malinda is originally from North Carolina and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, leisurely exploring local treasures in the area where she lives and places she visits, and getting near an ocean whenever possible.

Shelley Bamonte
Secretary to the Director of Student Activities

Shelley Bamonte

Shelley joined the Student Activities office in June 2008 after working in the Madigan Library for almost a year. On a day-to-day basis, she is responsible for the Student Activities on-line calendar, contracts for event performers and poster approvals. Shelley is also responsible for planning Connections new student orientation program and Welcome Weekend.

Shelley was born and raised in Williamsport. She graduated from Loyalsock Township High School and Penn State University with a BA in Advertising and a minor in business. After many years working in computer sales and service, she decided she needed a change and came to work in the Madigan Library. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending her kids sporting events.

Gayle joined Penn College in December 2003. She maintains the budgets for Student Activities, Student Government Association, Wildcat Events Board, and all student organizations.

Gayle was born and raised in New England where the majority of her family lives and where she still calls home. Gayle enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband and three children.

In the Spring of 2008, Shannon began working at Penn College in the Madigan Library as a Regular Part-Time Circulation Services Assistant.  In January, 2009, she joined the Student Activities staff as the Information Center Assistant.  Shannon oversees the daily operations of the Information Desk.  She processes Student Activities event approval forms, which include room reservations, work orders and media requests.  She also assists with selling fitness memberships, trips, and maintaining the student organization database. During the summer months, Shannon is involved behind the scenes with the Connections program; the first-year student orientation.  You will find her at the Information Desk Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Shannon, who grew up in a small town in neighboring Clinton County, loves spending time with her husband, Craig, and children, Grant and Chloe, who are her pride and joy.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, doing genealogical research, traveling to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and collecting Civil War memorabilia, rocks, and fossils.  Shannon and her family live in Muncy Valley.

Since joining Penn College in January, 1999, Mary Jane found she loves the interaction with the staff and faculty, and especially with the students. “I enjoyed being a student and now I love being part of the Penn College family, being able to help students, their parents, the staff and faculty – Penn College is such a great place to work; I look forward to coming to work every day.”

Mary Jane was born and raised in Williamsport and graduated from Williamsport Area High School. She and her husband, Jimmy and their 4 cats recently moved to Newberry after living outside the city for 37 years. Mary Jane loves spending time with her Godson/nephew, Alex, taking brisk walks, hunting for antiques with Jimmy, or curing up with one of her kitties and a good book.
