Pre-registration for Parent and Family Weekend 2011 will be available on Monday, August 8.
Check the website regularly for updates and schedule changes. Refunds are not available after Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Please note that students need to register and pay for all meals below, in addition to guests. Board meals cannot be used for catered meals during Parent and Family Weekend. Friday, September 23
Registration and Information
Time: 5-8 p.m.
Location: Campus Center, Lobby
Pick up your welcome packet, including useful information about Penn College and the Williamsport area, as well as event listings and other special programs. Tickets for meals and other events with an additional cost will be in your welcome packet.
Enjoy dinner on your own in Williamsport or on campus at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant (for reservations, call 570-320-CHEF).
Comedian Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger

Lynn, a self-taught ventriloquist, brings together amazing figure manipulation and exceptional vocal skills to create a fascinating comedy act which delights young and old throughout the country. Kick-Off Brunch and Penn College In Style: College Store Fashion Show
Pre-registration required by Wednesday, September 14
Time: 11 a.m.-noon
Location: Field House
Cost: $8.00 per person, including students. Children under 5 eat free.
Seating: Limited to 400
Join Penn College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour to kick off the morning with brunch catered by Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. While you are enjoying your meal, students will model the newest in Penn College fashion. All items in the show will be discounted in the College Store SATURDAY ONLY!
Around Town
Hiawatha River Boat Cruise
Pre-registration Required
Time: 11:30 a.m. (Participants will need own transportation to Hiawatha docks)
Seating: Limited to 125 persons
Cost: $3 per person
Take a ride on Williamsport’s Paddlewheel Riverboat. During this time, the entire boat is reserved exclusively for Penn College students and their families! Tickets will be received by pre-registered guests during registration. First come, first served. Tickets are arranged through the Penn College Student Activities Office and all questions regarding the tour should be directed to the Student Activities Office at 570-327-4763.
Tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Directions to the Susquehanna State Park where the Hiawatha docks will be available at the registration table.
Williamsport Historic Trolley Tour
Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Seating capacity is limited.
Reservations: Sign up when you arrive on campus to reserve your spot on the tour. Registration will be available at the Campus Center, Information Desk, beginning Friday, September 24, at 5 p.m.
Cost: Free
Spend part of your day touring Williamsport's historic neighborhoods and the downtown area. The tours last approximately 45 minutes. Trolleys are accessible to persons in wheelchairs. Tours leave the Campus Center every hour on the hour and at 15 and 30 minutes past the hour. The last tour departs at 4:15 p.m.

The profession of Computer Aided Drafting and Design has been transforming from a flat 2D approach to one of 3D. Parts can be designed in 3D and printed in 3D too! Participants in this workshop will design a part using CAD software and learn how rapid prototyping equipment can replicate a physical model of their design. Workshop capacity is limited to 20 and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.

Finance/Trading Lab
Location: Advanced Technology and Health Science Center, Room E258
The Finance lab allows students, and our student-managed investment fund, to view and interact with global stock markets in real-time. Equipped with dual computer monitors, live news and stock ticker feeds, and large LCD screens, the Finance Lab is the next best thing to being on Wall Street!
Web Design/Interactive Media Lab
Location: Advanced Technology and Health Science Center, Room E264
The Web Design/Interactive Media lab, equipped with cutting edge Apple computers and the Adobe Creative Suite, allows students to create, edit, and design interactive digital media, such as websites, videos, mobile apps, and more.
The Boardroom
Location: Advanced Technology and Health Science Center, Room E200
Students can use the newly created boardroom to hold meetings, give presentations, or take part in simulated board meetings, helping students earn degrees that work.

Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides

See Penn College and the surrounding Williamsport area from the air in a tethered hot air balloon! Please note that due to the high demand for this event, sign-ups will be taken on-site on a first come first served basis. The high demand may result in a significant wait to ride the balloon; however the staff will do their best to accommodate everyone.
