Connection's Links and Assistant Link
"I first became a Link to hang out with friends... but I have helped more students than I could have ever imagined."
Sabrena O'Keefe
Business Administration
Links are Penn College students hired to assist with the coordination and implementation of the Connections program, Penn College’s summer orientation. Through small and large group interactions, Links help prepare first-year, transfer and non-traditional students and their guests to become members of the Penn College community. They are called upon to present programs, lead tours, and help coordinate check-in and out for the program. Links are expected to serve as role models for program participants and they must be flexible, willing to learn and to accept responsibility. A high level of motivation, enthusiasm and dedication is also required of a Link in order to ensure the success of the Connections Program. The student selected for the Assistant Link position will provide additional support to the Student Activities and Residence Life Offices through assigned tasks as well as on-site coordination.
Links will also participate in fun and interactive training sessions in the weeks leading up to Connections. Some training events may include: country retreats, community service opportunities and teambuilding challenges.
Qualifications Desired in a Link:
- Be responsible, reliable, confident and flexible.
- Possess strong communication skills in order to facilitate group discussions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to helping others and enjoy working with people.

- Be willing and available to return to campus on May 26 for training and be present throughout all Connections sessions.
