Student Organizations - Dances
Student organizations are permitted to sponsor dances. Dances may be used as fundraisers by charging admission. The rules and restrictions that apply to dances are as follows:
Doors are to be opened by 9 p.m.
A student organization member must remain at the door until the completion of the dance. A minimum of three organization members must be at the dance at all times.
Minimum age required for admission is 17 years.
Proof of age is required.
One non-student guest per Penn College student.
All guests must have a picture ID with proof of age. Those without proper ID must be asked to leave. Students are responsible for the actions of their guests.
Student organizations may choose a theme for the dance.
Decorations or giveaways in relation to the theme may also be used. It is the responsibility of the organization to take down and properly dispose of all decorations at the conclusion of the dance.
Adviser must be present for the entire dance.
Adviser is to see that all rules are enforced and Penn’s Inn (or other facility) is returned to its original condition.
Prohibited Items and Offenses:
- Backpacks and bags are prohibited in the dance.
- Individuals found in possession of a weapon, drugs, or alcohol will be reported to Penn College Police.
- Individuals who are suspected of being intoxicated or exhibiting threatening or violent behavior should not be admitted and should be reported immediately to Penn College Police.
