We are happy to introduce Greek Life to Penn College’s co-curricular opportunities!
The College recognizes and supports fraternities and sororities because Greek Life has historically played a critical role in strong student life programs and has been noted for offering students opportunities to:
- Gain leadership skills and experience outside the classroom;
- Be active in college/community service and philanthropy activities;
- Develop institutional pride and build connections between friends, faculty, and the College or University; and
- Find their niche on a college campus, making the institution feel smaller and more like home.
We currently recognize four fraternities and two sororities. At Penn College, the Greek system works in conjunction with the College in the mission to educate the "whole" student. Founded under the principles of scholarship, leadership, community service and the development of life-long friendships, Penn College Greeks strive to achieve these principles.
We are proud of our Greek community. We strongly encourage you to consider joining a fraternity or sorority; however, this decision deserves careful reflection. Involvement in the Greek community provides another hands-on learning tool the College offers. It will gives real-world experience that can be taken into professional careers and gives opportunities to assume different leadership roles, from programming and recruiting to money and risk management.
