Community Service
Civic engagement, or volunteerism, is a great way to make a difference and can be a rewarding complement to your academic experience. Through volunteerism you can:
- Develop leadership skills
- Strengthen interpersonal skills
- Meet new people and build long-lasting relationships
- Help make a positive difference in the community
- Gain valuable resume experience
- Feel great about your contributions
Student Activities maintains a list of volunteer agencies in the community community. If you have the time to volunteer, you can contact agencies listed to arrange volunteer hours. You can find agency contact information on the MyPCT portal. You will need to log in with your Penn College username and password.
If you are a community service agency or group looking for students to volunteer, you can email your request to studentactivities@pct.edu and make sure to include the following pertinent information:
Community Service Project
Agency benefitting from the project
Purpose of the project
Date and time
Location
Number of volunteers needed
Materials volunteers need to provide
Any additional details
Contact person and email or phone number
Requests for volunteers will be forwarded to all student organizations and the contact person will be copied on the email.
