Canstruction, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that holds annual design and build competitions to construct fantastic, giant sized, structures made entirely out of canned food. After the structures are built and the winners declared, the creations will be on view to the general public as giant art exhibits. At the close of the competitions, all of the food used in the structures is donated to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank branch in Williamsport.
Structures will be on display for the public to view on Sunday, April 1 - Tuesday, April 3 in Penn's Inn on the second floor of the Alvin C. Bush Campus Center. Hours open to the public are:
- Sunday, April 1, 1-5 p.m.
- Monday, April 2, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 3, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
There is no admission cost. However, donations of canned good items are encouraged and welcomed at the door.
Participants in the competition are Penn College Student Organizations and professionals in the design and construction industry. If interested in entering your team or firm, contact Sara Hillis at shillis@pct.edu or 570-327-4763.
