  • PBL Members Ring Bell for Salvation Army
    On Tuesday, December 7, taking a break from studying for finals meant helping out the Salvation Army raise money by ringing the familiar Salvation Army bell at K-Mart.
     
  • PCT PBL Takes Second Honors for Holiday Card!
    Many thanks to all the members who helped create this years holiday card for display on the Penn College Campus.  Special thanks to Justin Wilcott for designing this years card!  The card can be seen here.
     
  • Members Attend Conference in Buffalo, NY
    Members of Penn College PB attended the 2004 National Fall Leadership Conference, held in Buffalo, NY from November 12th to 13th.  Attendees participated in workshops and listened to speakers on a variety of business and personal motivation topics.  After the conference was over, Penn College PBL members traveled to see Niagara Falls!  Check out the pictures!
     
  • Officers Attend Pennsylvania PBL's First State Fall Officer Orientation (SFOO)
    On Saturday, October 16, three members from Penn College Phi Beta Lambda attended the first State Fall Officer Orientation, held by the officers of Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda. (Click here for more information)
     
  • FBLA-PBL introduces the Career and Membership Achievement Program (CMAP)
    The national organization of Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda, recently released a new recognition program aimed at helping its members achieve 3 different levels.
     

2006 Region 7 Workshops
Two officers from Penn College PBL spoke at workshops hosted by Jersey Shore FBLA at the Region 7 Leadership Workshop.  The students were exposed to FBLA after high school in the form of PBL.

Officers attend first State Fall Officer Orientation - October 2004
This past Saturday, students from several Pennsylvania colleges attended the first State Fall Officer Orientation held by Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda (PA PBL) at the Lansdale School of Business.

These students participated in activities and discussions designed by PA PBL's State Officers to promote the ideas of what it means to be an officer and how to effectively run a chapter. Some of the topics included PA PBL's goals for the school year, fundraising, recruitment, new chapter activation, making meetings fun, and promotion.

Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate version of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), an non-profit educational association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. More information about FBLA-PBL is available at their website, www.FBLA-PBL.org.
 

National Leadership Conference (NLC) Results: Denver, CO - July 2004
Four Pennsylvania College of Technology students attending this month’s Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference in Denver placed in the Top 10 in their respective competition categories.

Among the top finishers during the July 8-12 event were Billie J. Conrad of Millerstown and Alexander Kantor of Harrisburg, eighth place in the Business Plan category; Clinton M. Cullison of Harrisburg, eighth in Economics; and Randy A. Klein of Plymouth Meeting, seventh place in Computer Concepts.

Conrad is majoring in Business Administration-Management Concentration, Kantor in Computer Information Technology-Internetworking Application Development Concentration, Cullison in Business Administration-Marketing Concentration, and Klein in Business Administration Management Information Systems Concentration.

The students, advised by Dr. Dennis R. Williams, associate professor of business administration, had advanced to national competition on the basis of their statewide performance in Williamsport in April.

The conference consisted of two parts: a two-day Institute for leaders, from which four Penn College students graduated with honors; and the PBL competition and annual meeting, during which students attended workshops such as “Igniting Your Entrepreneurial Spirit” and “Leading in College When the Heat Is On.”

2004-05 New officers election - May 2004 
Our organization elected its new slate of officers for the 2004-05 academic year!  Check back soon for updates on what we will be bringing to the table for the Penn College community.
 

State Leadership Conference 2004 (SLC) Results - April 2004
Members of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Phi Beta Lambda chapter excelled in competition at PBL's annual State Leadership Conference, held recently in Williamsport.

PBL is the postsecondary division of the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc., a national nonprofit educational association of students preparing for careers in business or related fields.

Penn College students placing first in their competition categories are: Randy A. Klein, Plymouth Meeting, Computer Concepts; Clinton M. Cullison, Harrisburg, Economics; Philip A. Erb, Williamsport, and Anthony T. Eisenhour, Middletown, Web-Site Development; and Billie J. Conrad, Millerstown RR 2, and Alexander Kantor, Harrisburg, Business Plan.

Second-place winners from the College chapter are: Mary K. Keiffer, Grantville, Impromptu Speaking; and Robert E. Dimmick, Danville, International Business. Angela D. Rymer, Jersey Shore, placed third in Marketing. Two winners also were elected to state office: Kantor was chosen as president and Erb as reporter for Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda. Eight members will participate in the PBL National Leadership Conference in July in Denver.

"We have an excellent leadership team for the state of Pennsylvania," said Dr. Dennis R. Williams, associate professor of business administration and chapter adviser. "They are planning a recruitment drive for the state, which includes activation of new chapters at other colleges and reactivation of chapters that, for whatever reason, dropped out."
 

National Fall Leadership Conference (NFLC): Baltimore, MD - November 2003
Eight members from the chapter attended the annual conference, held along the Baltimore Inner Harbor.  The chapter also participated in presenting to prospective students about the college, and the degrees which it can offer students.


2003 FBLA Region 7 Workshop: Jersey Shore High school - October, 2003
Four members from Penn College PBL visited Jersey Shore High School on Nov. 12th to hold two workshops for PA FBLA members.  The workshop was geared towards how to develop websites using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).  This event was very exciting to attend and it brought more exposure to our local chapter, as well as to the Pennsylvania PBL to show that there is more to FBLA after you leave high school.
 

National Leadership Conference (NLC) Winners - July 2003
In July at the NLC in Dallas, Texas, Penn College PBL won two awards - Clint Cullison earned 5th place in Marketing while Alex Kantor and Phil Erb placed 10th in Web Site Development.
