College Policy & Administrative Statements
Basic Rights & Freedoms – The principles to which the College subscribes in support of students’ rights to self-expression, accessible education, and nondiscriminatory treatment.
Code of Conduct – Statement outlining the College’s regulations regarding student behavior, disciplinary action for prohibited conduct, and academic/nonacademic complaint procedures.
Statement on Academic Dishonesty & Plagiarism – Definitions and consequences of plagiarism and academic dishonesty.
Resident Classification – Explanation of residency requirements for in-state tuition.
Information Technology Resources Acceptable Use Policy – Statement specifying prohibited conduct in terms of the College’s information technology resources, including the legal, disciplinary, and ethical implications of electronic communication.
Other policies and statements cover the following topics: alcohol and illicit drug use, tuition refunds, tobacco use on College property, financial obligations, attendance requirements, and soliciting on campus.
The College publishes a Student notice relating to the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (1988) Amendments of 1989, which includes the following information:
- Introduction, Standards of Conduct, and Sanctions
- A Quick Reference to Prohibited Acts and Penalties
- Federal Penalties and Other Legal Sanctions
- Health Risks Associated with the Use of Illicit Drugs and Abuse of Alcohol
- Treatment Assistance Available
In compliance with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and with Federal law, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Education Amendments of 1972, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the College publishes its Nondiscrimination Policy and Grievance Procedure.
In compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, the College publishes the following information: notification regarding a student’s rights of privacy, procedure to inspect and review educational records, and locations where students can go to obtain their own records.
In compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the College publishes its Policy on Sexual Harassment of Students, which includes the consequences of sexual harassment and the procedure for reporting such incidents.
