Forest Technology major
Through outdoor learning and hands-on experience, this program prepares students for technical positions in forestry production, wood processing and manufacturing industries.

Three sites are used as experimental forest where various thinning and harvesting techniques are practiced. A variety of hardwood and conifer stands between 10 – 80 years of age are present in the 3 outdoor laboratories. A 2-acre pond and recreation field compliment the outdoor facilities.

Equipment supporting the educational program include a dehumidification dry kiln, dozer, a John Deere 440C skidder and CAT D3 skidder dozer, a John Deer 380 forklift, a portable Mighty Might band mill, and a 2011 tandem International logging truck with Prentice loader.

Faculty devote 100% of their time to instruction.
