A 165-acre operator-training site is located approximately two miles south of the Schnnebeli Earth Science Center giving students the opportunity for extensive operator experience.
A 48,000 square foot laboratory contains dedicated teaching areas including:
- hydraulics
- refrigeration
- transmissions
- electrical
- power trains
- engines
- fuel systems
Equipment used for troubleshooting, repair and service include:
- 25+ units of heavy construction equipment and diesel trucks used as instructional equipment for operation and maintenance courses
- 5 rental units, assuring students experience in operating state-of-the-art equipment
- 30 late-model diesel engines
- 20 mechanical truck transmissions
- 10 power shift transmissions
- 6 Allison transmissions
- 20 drive axle carriers
- 12 truck refrigeration units
- 8 trucks
- 11 heavy construction units

Additional pieces of specialty equipment used to enhance instruction are 15 laptop computers, a component test bench, hydrostatic transmission test bench, and a dynamometers test room.
