Diesel Technology A.A.S. and Diesel Technician Certificate Programs

Pennsylvania College of Technology's diesel programs provide students the opportunity to develop skills in repairing and servicing diesel-powered highway vehicles. Diesel maintenance techniques and principles are applied in diagnosing malfunctions and prescribing corrective action. The major focus is in the areas of engines, power trains, electrical/electronics, fuel systems, refrigeration and chassis.

The Diesel Center provides students with the opportunity to work on a variety of apparatus including:

  • 40 late-model diesel engines
  • 15 drive-axle carriers
  • 15 power-shift transmissions
  • 10 Allison transmissions
  • 30 mechanical transmissions
  • 12 refrigeration units
  • 10 truck tractors

Faculty are specialized in the areas of engines, electrical/ electronic powertrains, air conditioning/refrigeration and fuel systems.

Students seeking to move into entry-level management positions in the future should enroll in the associate degree program.
