Tom designed dozens of commercialized products and systems during his 17 years in industry. He enjoys the process of creation and his research interests include ethnographically based design. Tom is a licensed Professional Engineer and served as a visiting Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2009.

Billie Coffman, Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education, was hired in 1989 as the first full-time faculty to teach the early childhood courses. She earned her Master's degree in 1988 from the Pennsylvania State University. She has completed an additional 36 credits beyond her Master's at Penn State in Child and Family Studies working toward her Ph.D. program. Since 1993, she has served as a trainer, coordinator, and developer for professional development for child care workers in the PA Central Key, an 8-county region. She is co-founder of the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children (CSAEYC), an affiliate group of the national organization. She has presented early childhood workshops at local, regional and national conferences since 1989. In April 2001, she was presented the "Early Childhood Educator of the Year" award at the CSAEYC conference. She is a member of many professional affiliations and serves on local and regional advisory boards.

Elizabeth has an extensive background in legal and systems advocacy for disenfranchised persons, including persons with disabilities; persons of color; gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered persons; women; children; and victims of trauma and abuse. She has counseled women; victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; individuals and families affected by chemical dependency; and persons with disabilities and their families. She has more than ten years experience in management and administration of human service organizations and has performed consultation and training with respect to cultural sensitivity, emotional intelligence, educational equity, civil rights, and equal opportunity. She has volunteered for numerous human service organizations that focused the delivery of their services on women and children, peace and justice, and persons with disabilities. In addition to Human Services Program students, Elizabeth's teaching experience includes helping law students become more effective counselors. She is admitted to practice before the Nebraska Bar and the Eighth Federal District Court and belongs to numerous professional organizations.

Susan R. Slamka

Susan Slamka is assistant professor of psychology and human services at the Pennsylvania College of Technology. She is adviser to the honor society for two-year students, Phi Theta Kappa, and is the social sciences representative on the Transfer and Articulation Oversight Committee. She teaches a range of courses including General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Abnormal Child Psychology, Behavior Modification, Fundamentals of Counseling, Introduction to Human Services, Theories and Practices of Groups, Human Services Internships I & II, Special Populations in Human Services, and Contemporary Issues in Human Services. Before teaching at Penn College, Professor Slamka was assistant professor of psychology and human services at Lyndon State College in Vermont. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University with special focuses on the treatment of children and women's issues. Her current professional interests include studying parent-child counseling approaches and children's psychological disorders. She has been teaching at Penn College since 2001.

Karen Murray

Karen Murray received her B.S. in Printing Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and her Masters of Technology in Graphic Communications from Arizona State University. Miss Murray has published several articles about the industry in the International Graphic Arts Education Association Journal and Southwest Graphics.

Prior to coming to Penn College Miss Murray spent several years in the industry in various prepress and management positions. She is currently instructing students in those areas as well as heading the internship program for Graphic Communications.

Tom Tyberg

Tom has twenty-five plus years of experience in the graphic communications and printing industries covering a variety of positions in both production and management. He has experience with flexography, gravure, and offset tag and label converters, flexo and gravure packaging manufacturers, RFID converters, ink and substrate purchasing, and commercial printing.

Courses include Applied Typography and Design, Digital Imaging, Finishing and Distribution, Printing Production, Output Workflow, Inks and Substrates, Advanced Imaging Techniques, Printing Production Management, and a variety of graphic communications management and specialty print subjects.
