- Safety glasses
- Leather work shoes (safety toes optional)
- Welding helmet with #10 lens
- Welding goggles with #5 lens
- Leather arm and chest covers (bibs) or leather coat
- Welding gloves (SMAW & GTAW)
- Chipping hammer
- Wire brush (carbon & stainless steel)
- 12' tape measure
- 6" slip joint pliers
- Diagonal cutter pliers
- 8" or 10" adjustable wrench
- Toolbox or tool bag (no larger than 10"x 10" x 20")
- Hammer
- Hex key set (allen wrenches) standard and metric
- 8" or 10" locking pliers (vise grip)
- Screwdrivers (medium size straight and Phillips)
- Combination square
- Combination lock or padlock (for personal locker)
Students are advised not to purchase new tools before meeting with faculty on the first day of classes.
