Tool List
It is suggested that students have at least the recommended tools listed below. This will minimize the time spent waiting in line to obtain or return the basic tools to the room. Instructors will help identify what tools are needed during the first day of class. Free lockers are located in the laboratory area. Students must supply their own locks. Lockers must be cleaned and locks removed at the end of the spring semester or College personnel will remove and discard the items.
Required Tools:
- Industrial Safety Glasses with side shields (prescription if needed)
- Tool chest (No larger than 12"x12"x24")
- Hex key set (Allen wrenches) – standard and metric
- Adjustable wrench
- Center gage, (60 degree)
- 6" steel machinist rule
- Micrometer 0-1" – a quality brand (Starrett, Brown & Sharpe, etc.)
- 6" Calipers – digital or dial, also a quality brand. (Starrett, Brown & Sharpe, etc.)
- Edge finder. – .200 diameter
- Deburring tool
- Parallel Set
