Facilities
The Department is housed in two classroom and laboratory buildings — the Machining Technologies Center and College Avenue Labs.
Machining Technologies Center
Our main shop building for instruction in the following:
- Introductory machine shop
- Metrology
- Heat treating
- Grinding and polishing
- Turning
- Drilling
- Milling
- Beginning CNC
This building also houses the following:
- Tool room
- Metal store room
- Computer lab restricted to Industrial & Engineering Technologies' students
College Avenue Labs
This building contains our primary classroom spaces and our advanced technology (CIM) machining lab. This lab contains the following:
- CNC machinery
- Industrial robots
- Hydraulic/pneumatics lab
- Support equipment
This building also houses the following:
- Computer lab with special software for our program's students
- Rapid prototyping laboratory with four RP machines and a 3D scanner
- Metallurgy laboratory containing the following equipment:
- Metals spectrophotometer
- Servo-hydraulic tensile testing machine
- Automated microhardness tester
