"The best thing for being sad, replied Merlyn, beginning to puff and blow, is to learn something.  That is the only thing that never fails…Learn why the world wags and what wags it.  That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting.  Learning is the thing for you.  Look at what a lot of things there are to learn…”

I love occupational therapy! The variety of practice areas and the wide range of patient issues that need to be solved, make the career interesting and stimulating. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin once said, "What matters is not to do remarkable things, but to do ordinary things with the conviction that their value is enormous." That's what occupational therapy is all about…helping people of all ages to do the 'ordinary' tasks of everyday life…eating, self care, leisure, work, etc. The value of being able to do those things that we all take for granted is truly enormous! I love making a difference in someone's life through occupational therapy!
