Students gain experience with state-of-the-art equipment used in hospitals, and clinics serving people who are at risk for work-related injuries, or who have been hurt on their jobs. Occupational therapy practitioners use a wide range of activities in the real world to enhance independence and function. Students explore state-of-the-art occupational therapy tools during extensive hands-on learning. Fieldwork opportunities allow students to practice in many community sites with individuals of all ages. Occupational Therapists work with individuals who may have balance difficulties. Often, the therapy looks more like play! Occupational therapy provides opportunities to assist people of all ages to participate in activities that are challenging and meaningful. It's a joy to be a part of helping people help themselves! Helping people regain their independence is a main goal in occupational therapy. During lab experiences, students problem-solve solutions for homemakers with disabilities. This ball bath is common equipment in a pediatrics setting, and a good stress reliever for college students!
