Internships
Internships provide great opportunities for students in our culinary arts, hospitality management, and baking and pastry arts programs to practice the technical skills they have learned in classes at Penn College and to develop important workplace skills and behaviors that will help them succeed in the industry. Students work with internship coordinators to identify potential employers and apply for internships.
The school maintains an approved listing of internship employers that students use as the basis for their internship search. Students then work with internship coordinators to identify the internship opportunity that fits best within their career objectives. Employers generally enjoy the benefit of a motivated, skilled employee as students typically become a very productive part of the teams at their internship sites.
Internships are required in each of our School of Hospitality programs. Additionally, the bachelor’s degree program requires an advanced internship that is the basis of the student’s senior project. Coordinators for each of the programs are listed below:
