How do I become a Certified Culinarian or Certified Pastry Culinarian?
Students who graduate from an A.C.F. accredited, degree program, and are Junior A.C.F. members at the time of graduation are eligible to certify for free at the Certified Culinarian or Certified Pastry Culinarian level.
- They must complete the A.C.F. Accredited Program Graduate form (available in the Penn College School of Hospitality Office).
- They do not have to provide proof of work experience.
- They do not have to take the written A.C.F. exam.
Graduates of an A.C.F. accredited program who are not members of the A.C.F. at the time of graduation are not eligible for the free Certified Culinarian or Certified Pastry Culinarian. They must:
- Provide work experience and classroom documentation equaling three (3) years
- Use the regular certification form
- Pay the $115 certification fee
All other persons applying for Certified Culinarian or Certified Pastry Culinarian must:
- Take the written exam.
- Use the regular certification form
- Document schooling and work experience that totals three (3) years.
or
Document three (3) years of cook/pastry work experience and the three mandatory classes. - Pay the $115 certification fee.
