Types of Jobs
The HVAC Design Technology bachelor's degree prepares graduates for careers in residential or commercial businesses such as:
- Field technicians
- Repair technicians
- Installers
- Field or shop supervisors
- Design assistants
- Project managers
- Superintendents
- Mid-level managers
Graduates also may be self-employed in sales, service installation or HVAC contracting.
The Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology associate-degree programs prepare students for careers in refrigeration and air conditioning, and heating such as:
- Equipment mechanic
- Estimator
- Sales representative
- Air conditioning lab technician
- Industrial physical plant maintenance
The Plumbing certificate program prepares students for careers in plumbing installation, industrial maintenance, public utilities service, machine work and shipbuilding industries.
Placement Rates
Our 2005-06 Graduate Survey reported the followings placement data. This data indicates the percentage of our graduates who either found employment related to their course of study or are continuing their education.:
HVAC Technology - 100% placement
Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology - 82.4% placement
Plumbing - 100% placement
Companies hiring our graduates include Johnson Controls, Westcode Inc., Siemens Building Technologies, REMCO, Dan Foss, Penn State University, and many others. Penn College hosts two career fairs every year that bring hundreds of potential employers to meet prospective graduates.
