Student Organization
The American Institute of Architectural Students (AIAS) has been an active organization on campus for over 35 years. Although most members are in the Architectural Technology major, membership is open to all Penn College students.
Below is a listing of trips, community projects and fundraisers that AIAS has sponsored.
Trips
- Every fall, famous houses in western Pennsylvania designed by Frank Lloyd Wright
- Falling Water
- Kentuck Knob
- Other trips have included tours of architectural offices, important buildings and museums in the following cities:
- New York
- Washington D.C.
- Toronto
- Cleveland
- Chicago
- Boston
- Every other year the club sponsors a trip to Europe
Community Projects
- Toy drives
- Work for the food bank
- Weekends for Habitat for Humanity
- Presentations at College events such as Open House
- Purchased Penn College memorial bricks for faculty and student members
Fundraisers
- Raffles
- Bake sales
- Candy sales
- Birdhouse construction and sale
- Tee-shirts and jackets sales
- Penn College scholarship fundraiser
